Tomos from 1st Blagdon Scouts set himself a fundraising challenge before Christmas to raise money for a local charity. Here is his write up and some top tips !
MISSION
My mission was to raise money for a charity. I chose this charity because it is local and has helped my friends family’s before. The charity helps poorly children’ s family by giving them support and help.
TARGET
My target was to raise £100 by Christmas day.
METHOD
I made Christmas decorations using; sliced bits of wood, a glue gun, felt, googly eyes, (for my father Christmas decorations) cotton wool and twigs for the reindeer.
I asked for a donation of £3 per decoration.
OUTCOME
The total cost for all the things I used plus postage was £35. I raised £427 in total.
My top tips;
- Have a website for easy donation eg Just Giving
- Advertise it eg Facebook
- Choose something good quality but easy to make so you can make plenty of them
Well done Tomos, what a great effort for a fantastic cause
