Axe District Skills Day

Axe District is running a Skills Day on Saturday 8th July at Banwell Scout HQ from 10am to 4pm for all adult volunteers.

Banwell Scout HQ is at the bottom of West Street Car Park (Location Link)

Following feedback from the district sectional meetings the following activities will be available for you to find out a bit more, have a go and talk with other volunteers.

• Knots and Camp Gadgets
• Kelly Kettles
• Fire Skills – demonstration by Banwell Scouts during the morning
• Whittling – demonstration by Banwell Scouts during the morning
• Backwoods Cooking
• Navigation / Map Skills
• Geocaching
• Making Rope
• Ideas Wall

There will also be the opportunity to find out more and ask questions about:

• Online Scout Manager
• Recruitment –
• Activity Permits
• Nights Away Permits
• Young Leaders Scheme

There will be members of the district team available for you to catch up with, ask questions, find out information you’d like to know.

You can arrive for the whole day or just part of the day, the choice is yours. We also fully appreciate that childcare can sometimes be an issue, so you can bring your own children with you but they will be your responsibility at all times.

Feel free to bring a packed lunch if you want to stay for the whole day, tea, coffee, squash will be provided.
