Introduction to Hillwalking Course

Avon Scouts Hill Walking Unit (ASHU) is running its classic Introduction to Hillwalking in the Scout Association course again on the 5^th October 2025.  The course is designed for Avon County Scout Network and Leaders who want to learn the basics they need to take young people out walking anywhere.  No previous experience required.  We plan to start with a classroom session at Mafeking Hall in Pilning in the morning before relocating to the Black Mountains for an afternoon session out on the hill.  We will cover the basic skills and Scouting specific aspects (POR) with ample opportunity to practice these in a relaxed enjoyable environment. Cost – £15 per person (plus booking fee and the cost of sharing lifts to the Black Mountains).
